So not too long ago I made a little playlist and it went down fairly well so I've had another go at it for the Summer season. There is no rhyme or reason to these songs, just a handfull of things that I think fit well together and should sound good at anything you might be getting up to over the next few months.
The tracklisting is as follows:
Hercules And Love Affair – Blind (Frankie Knuckles Remix)
Kelis – 4th Of July (Fireworks) - Club Version
Delorean – Stay Close
Rusko – Hold On
Kele – On The Lam
Major Lazer – Pon De Floor
Lil Wayne – A Milli
JJ – Ecstasy
Animal Collective – My Girls
Yeasayer – Ambling Alp (Memory Tapes Remix)
Janelle Monae – Tightrope - Feat. Big Boi
The Very Best – Warm Heart Of Africa (Feat. Ezra Koenig)
Mystery Jets – Dreaming Of Another World
LCD Soundsystem – All My Friends
The Tough Alliance – Neo Violence
Phoenix – Rome - Neighbours with Devendra Banhart
Caribou – Sun
Sébastien Tellier – La Ritournelle

For The Record: April 2010
April has been a fairly quiet month with sub-standard albums from Plan B, MGMT and Kate Nash dominating the release schedules. Luckily May is shaping up to be the busiest month of all time. Technically the new Crystal Castles album is not out until June but was rushed out digitally following a leak. Alice and Ethan have taken their shredded brutslity of yore and smoothed the edges, created a violent club soundtrack that pushes boundaries and demands attention. Having only ever heard the album played at ear lacerating volume I can only assume how monumental tracks like Celestica and Baptism are going to sound when played out live...
The best albums of April:
She & Him - Volume 2
Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (II) (Album of the month)
Caribou - Swim
Avi Buffalo - Avi Buffalo
Darwin Deez - Darwin Deez
Also reccomended: Starkey, Peggy Sue, Ikonika, The Fall, Futureheads and Jonsi.
I'm aware there are a few key releases I haven't properly covered in 2010, hopefully next week there will be a post plugging any such gaps.
April was however a bumper month for great tracks. To see everything (a la Patrick Stewart) that was written about over the last month the click HERE. There you will find stuff by Hot Chip, Beck, MIA, jj, HEALTH, Big Boi, Rolo Tomassi, Blur, Active Child, The Big Pink, Toro Y Moi and more...

Sorry to post more videos, I have something pretty special from Chris Taylor and Class Actress to go up later on tonight but all these songs/ videos need a good airing.
First is 'Odessa' by Caribou which I think might just be my favourite song of 2010 so far. Strong claim I know but it's incredible.
Now, Vampire Weekend's new effort feat. RZA, Joe Jonas and Jake Gyllenhall. Getting to #1 in the States evidently pays...
Finally it's the new Late Of The Pier video. I don't know what the bands plans are for this year but this AA Side single is out soon along with it's partner 'Blueberry' which aired here last year.
