I went to see The National on Saturday. It was face-meltingly hot and they played a bit too much 'Boxer' era stuff for my liking but it was still a knock out performance. No band mix the primal with the stately quite like Matt and The Dessner's, I can't wait to catch them again when they return to London in December. Read my report on the gig over at Spinner.
