Dum Dum Girls are putting the ‘pop’ into Noise Pop in 2010. Having emerged early on last year the band have been slowly but surely putting out a string of great releases on split 7”s alongside bands like Graffiti Island and Crocodiles. Songs like ‘Longhair’ and ‘Jail La La’ place emphasis on melody over fuzz and boast some of the sweetest melodies Phil Spector could dream of recording. News on an album and UK tour dates are scarce but the band are booked to play White Heat in London later this year and if you want some instant nostalgia the recent Christmas single ‘Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Die’ is seven shades of superb.
