Golden Ages

. Monday, March 8

Golden Ages day job consists mainly of the looping, ambient and kinda directionless music that so many stoned slackers are climbing the Hype Machine charts with these days. It's all fairly pleasant but I kinda feel like Memory Tapes et al have one great record between them rather than the six or seven drawn out LP's we've had so far.

Remixing seems to suit the solo stylings of Golden Ages much more. Two tracks surfaced over the weekend including a reworking of blog favourites Surfer Blood. One of the best songs on 'Astro Coast' is Twin Peaks and in Golden Ages hands it becomes a hazy disco classic. Ramping the adrenalin up more is the Pitchfork premiered edit of Day We Met by Million Young.
